6 months

Man where has the time gone? Our beautiful little girl is 6 months old! She loves to stand. She gets pretty excited when she is standing and starts to breath heavily. She is our little mouth breather. She's been told that she sounds like a little pug both by her dad and a woman at church. She can sit up by herself for a bit before the flops over lol and she can sit even longer if she propped up against the couch. She reaches for EVERYTHING! I'll be nursing her and she'll reach up to grab my hair, my face or the burp cloth. She can't just lay there and relax she has to be reaching or grabbing something the whole time. When she's on her belly she'll reach out as far as she can for toys. She can put the binky in her mouth by herself.


She hold on to the bowl or cup while we're feeding her and tries to hold on to the spoon too. She eating pumpkin, avocado, and homemade rice cereal (we make all her baby food) She has also gummed up a few animal crackers.

 She likes to snuggle with her mommy and she'll lay her head down and snuggle against the floor when she starts to get tired while playing on her belly.

 

She loves music and hearing me sing (Nothing makes you feel better about your singing voice then an adorable baby smiling at you in encouragement) She chews on any and everything she can get close enough to. She's getting so smart and recognizes the sign for "eat" and "water". She opens her mouth for both.
 
Her finger nails grow soooo fast and she scratches herself and us all the time. We can never seem to keep on top of her nails (even when we cut and file them they are like little claws) This is the only picture I could get of the scratch under her eye.

She doesn't cry unless she's hurt or tired. But only if she gets hurt by someone else, when she scratches herself, kicks something too hard, or anything like that she doesn't even make a peep.



Penelope's cousin Gretchen is 3 days older than her and I think you can tell they are cousins!

Avocado

We've given Penelope pumpkin several times and she's done well with it hasn't loved it but ate it anyways. Tonight we gave avocado a try and she seemed to like it! She opens nice and big for the spoon now too! It's really cute!

25 years old!

Yup I turned 25 yesterday! Crazy I know!

 Happy St. Patrick's Day everybody!

5 months old

          Penelope has been 5 months old for a little while now (close to 2 weeks) and she is growing and getting so strong and smart and is still so beautiful. (wow that was a lot of "and"s) She can roll from her back to belly and from her belly to her back and has even rolled over completely quite a few times (back to belly to back). She can hold quite a bit of weight on her legs now, she pretty much just needs us to keep her balanced. She sits pretty well too, she can sit by herself for like 2 seconds before falling over lol. She'll sit in the bumbo for a little while but she likes to sit in her high chair more. We've started feeding her but not a ton really she'll only puts up with trying to eat for so long before she's done and starts to get fussy. (not a ton = a couple of spoonfuls) Obviously she still gets all her nourishment from nursing but she's learning to open up for the spoon really well... she just isn't sure she likes actually food yet. We're working on it. She's mainly practicing eating right now. We've started her with pumpkin, from research we've done and from what our doctor told us that is what we choose to start with. She still laughs and smiles daily. She is still a loud little girl. She loves to squeal, jabber, spit and make motor boat noises. She loves to watch her "Baby Signing Time" video she's learning to sign eat, drink, water, milk, cracker, mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, hurt, and several different animals. She doesn't do the signs yet but she does smile and get excited when she hears the music for the video and will turn her head toward the TV. I think that's probably all that's new really.

 She LOVES that duck. You pull it and it plays twinkle twinkle little star. When it starts to play she smiles and will hold on to it.
