Sitting

Here are pictures of Penelope sitting like a big girl, of her cheesy smiles she does for the camera and one of her teeth it was the best one I could get and I got bit in the process of trying to get a better one.

8 months and more

So Penelope is 8 months old now. And yes I'm late with the update again, she turned 8 months 10 days ago. She sits really well all by herself now we don't even need to put pillows behind her anymore. She has TWO teeth! And you can see them easily now. She is VERY local again! She went through a "whispering" phase but she's back to being her loud self lol. She is very mobile she rolls and scoots all over the place. Her scooting is now like she's swimming on the floor. And she can be pretty quick with it when she really wants something. We have pillows set up around the apt so she can't get to cords and stuff. She also gets up on her hands and knees and rocks back and forth a lot ... but she just flops on her belly after rocking for little bit. She is super smiley most of the time and is generally a happy girl. She loves her Grandma and Grandpa Christenson! She just thinks they are awesome. They were out here for Tatum's baby blessing (Lars and Ashley's little girl) Speaking of Tatum when Penelope and Tatum meet they both smiled so big at each other it was adorable! They are going to be such good friends :) We had so much fun with my parent while they were here. They got to play lots with Penny and she loved it! We also went to City Creek Mall and had a game night with the family who were here. So fun!

Brushing Penny's teeth, she loves loves loves her tooth brush she throws a fit when we're done brushing her teeth and take the tooth brush away.
She thinks she's a big girl and rolls over during baths obviously we are right there the whole time so she is safe ... it took me awhile to not make her go back on her back but it was a loosing battle.
 Goofy smile after her bath
 checking out Grandma and Grandpa
Giving Grandpa a smile of approval
Loving on Grandma! She loved Grandma's bracelet and stole it the whole time she was here Penny was convinced it was hers!
 Hey Grandma this is mine.
I LOVE snack time! lol Such a cutie!
 Laughing at Grandma
Playing with Grandma's bracelet it was so funny when she'd have it just hanging out of her mouth
We got Penny her own bracelet while we were at City Creek Mall :)
I have some videos uploading to YouTube when they're done I'll do an other post with those.

smiles, curls and more

So Penelope has been much smiley-er (yes I just made up a word) since her tooth has broken through. We have gotten more pictures of her smiling in the last week then we have of her smiling ever! (Ok that might be slightly exaggerated but still)

She still scrunches up her face when she's frustrated.

She's working on her technique of scooting and it's getting closer to being more like a crawl.

(not the best video of it but it's the best that I got)

She still loves her pig and snuggles with it at nap time, bed time and if we're going to be out long enough that I'll need to hold her for a nap. At night when it's getting close to bedtime Chris will lay her on his lap and bounce her and she'll talk. It's pretty funny especially when she starts to fall asleep while doing it.

Her hair at the crown is longer than anywhere else because none of it fell out when she was younger. And it curls a bit I think it is super cute.

She likes to chew/suck on her toes if she gets the chance.

She really likes bath time and is usually smiley, talks, giggles and kicks during bath time.

She is FINALLY making an effort to sit for longer periods of time thanks to this thing (I have no idea what you would call it)

Oh and if you look very closely you can see the white speck that is her tooth

On the move

Penelope has been moving a lot for a while now. She used to just roll to get what she wanted, which she still does a lot of. But, if the item is right in front of her she'll scoot forward to get it. Here's a video of her scooting

Tooth!

I know you can't exactly see it but you can see where it is coming through. You can feel a little pokey bit poking through. Chris claims he saw a white spot but I don't see it in the picture and I haven't been able to see it in real life either

Chris thought it was funny how hard I was trying to see it, so he took a picture of me trying to see it

7 months

Yes I'm late with the 7 month update, we were having a tough time trying to get Penelope to sleep on her own. She decided she didn't want to be swaddled anymore but also wouldn't sleep without it. So that ended up being a rough week and a half or so of her screaming and crying every night before bed time and sometimes during the day at nap time as well. But I'm glad to report that she is finally going to bed and taking her naps very well on her own. She has been a rolling manic! She rolls everywhere. She rolled over to play under the boucy seat and chew on the tags

She loves her teething biscuits and she's tried a few finger foods bananas, animals crackers, and watermelon.

She  likes to try to do push ups like daddy...

She is still quite vocal at times but not as often. She is very observant and notices things that you won't think she'd care about. She's a silly girl and makes herself laugh at random times. She used to close her eyes and shake her head back and forth when the light would come on before the flash when taking her picture. But today she'd smile when the light would come on lol she even chuckled once. So here are several of the smiley pictures.

When she gets upset but not enough to cry she scrunches up her nose and breathes in and out heavily. This is the face.
