100% girl

We had our follow-up ultrasound done yesterday the tech said that the cyst on baby’s brain is resolving itself and looks a lot smaller than it had before and that all of the organs and everything look great. We got a very clear look and she is definitely still a girl!
Our tech kept saying how pretty Penny is and even said that her heart was pretty lol. We have some more pictures!! Yay! I think she is the cutest baby already! I seriously can’t get over how cute she is! I’ve been looking at the pictures a lot!

Here’s her profile picture at 23 weeks! (our tech had fun doing these first two pictures in pink)

Here she is snuggling up to mommy

Just look at how cute she is! Oh my goodness this is by far my favorite picture! I just love how much of her face you can see! Look at her full little lips and her cute nose! I’m so in love with our little girl!

Finally!

This last Saturday (the 28th of May) Chris was able to see Penny move, he saw her bump 3 times in a row and then on Sunday he saw her two completely separate times. Which was a lot of fun for him to be able to at lest see her move. We also had dinner with my cousin Jeff, his wife Irene and their 4 adorable kids. It was a lot of fun to visit with them and catch up. Neither of them had meet Chris yet so that was fun for them to get to know him and for him to met them. Lots of chatting and laughing :) And when we got home from dinner Chris finally felt baby girl move!! So fun! I was feeling her kick and we were laying on the bean bag together so I put his hand over the area with my hand on top of his and she kicked so hard that I felt it even through his hand! She kicked and moved several times for daddy! Yay! I’m happy he was able to feel her move. It was a special moment for me I couldn’t help but tear up a bit as his eyes got huge and he had a big smile on his face as he felt her for the first time!

Food baby?

I’ve come up with the perfect way to describe how I feel at this point in the pregnancy, I feel like I’ve eaten a huge amount of food all the time! You know after thanksgiving dinner how you just want to unbutton your pants and lounge around b/c you’ve eaten soo much. That’s how being pregnant feels … at least to me it does. I feel like I’m waiting for a large meal to digest and I want to nap lol.And like when you’ve had a very large meal you feel like you can’t bend over because you’re. just. too. full! But there are obvious differences like I’ve never had a meal start to kick me before. And no one ever thought that my  food belly was cute. Also even though you feel big and full you still get hungry because it's not actually food in there it's just a 1 pound baby in your belly. It's definitely a weird feeling I'm not sure what I thought being pregnant would feel like but a kicking thanksgiving dinner is not what I had in mind :)

And non-pregnancy related stuff. I gave Chris a hair cut today.

Here he is showing off his new haircut

I've been making lots of sweets (by request of Chris) in the last month or so I've made two 8x8 pans of mint brownies, oatmeal chocolate and peanut butter chip cookies, and a 8x8 pan of apple cake. I did make the apple cake because I wanted the rest were requests. I got a new calling in church I'm in charge of activity days for the 8-11 year old girls.

And just for fun here's the two of us :)

Comparison

So I thought it'd be fun to do another side by side comparison from last week and this week. I have a feeling I'm going to "pop" sometime soon.

It's crazy to think that I'm over halfway through the pregnancy. It's gone by so fast!

Movement

I can’t help but smile when I feel baby girl poke at me. It’s like she's saying “Hi momma, I’m still in here just so you know!” lol Last night I was just seeing if Chris would be able to feel her yet. So I was putting pressure in places I had felt her move to see if I could feel her with my hand. So far when I’ve felt her with my hand it’s been more like a pulse more than anything really, just small pushes. But last night she pushed on me hard! As in I saw my fingers go up and down. But she only did it once then started kicking my bladder (it’s her favorite thing to do!) I told Chris that I wished my hand was his so he could have felt her. He just not as patient with trying to feel her as I am… I’ll sit there forever just putting pressure in different places trying to feel her. And he’ll up after a minute or so, I just don’t think he knows what to look for, so it’s not as fun for him yet. He tells me he’ll feel her when she makes more obvious moves but for now he’s fine with not feeling her. And the thing is she doesn’t move in the same spot more then once or twice. So it’s not like I can’t have him feel where I just did and feel her, because by then she’s gone. She’s a wiggle worm like her mommy. It’s been fun :)

Hunny

I thought I’d share a funny, cute, I love my hubby story. When Chris and I had been dating for a while I think it might have been just before we got engaged or a bit before I started calling him hunny and at first he did not like it, he’d just laugh at me every time I called him hunny. But eventually he started calling me hunny too. And now that’s just what we call each other, when we first started dating we called each other babe and now it’s hunny :) But when I get frustrated with him, he’s no longer hunny he’s Christopher, well it progressively goes to Christopher from hunny to hun from hun to babe to babe to Chris from Chris to Christopher something to that effect. Or it just skips straight to Christopher lol. And the other night he went straight from hunny to Christopher because it was time for bed, I was tired and I’m 5 months pregnant. I can’t remember what we were talking about but I said “Really Christopher?” in an annoyed voice and he said "That’s not my name." I was puzzled, “How is Christopher not your name?” and he responded “My name is hunny.” How can you be annoyed at that? I just laughed and gave him a hug and kiss and we went to bed

So I honestly don’t know which of these two I dislike more, being told that I was huge for how far along I was in the beginning of my pregnancy or now being told that I don’t even look big and definitely not like I’m 20 weeks pregnant. I’m sure the second is supposed to be a compliment but it just makes me wonder how big people thought I was before I was pregnant?

as in 2 months before getting pregnant

I don’t know about you but I see a big difference!
